Services & Treatments
Because every situation is unique,
we offer a variety of treatment approaches to meet your needs.
ETT
Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT) is a therapeutic method that focuses on treating mental health issues using a combination of psychotherapy, light therapy, eye movement, and attachment theory to address trauma, emotional distress, and associated physical pain. ETT theory has shown that utilizing particular wavelengths of light can help change a person’s emotional state by reshaping the neural impulses affecting the brain and the nervous system.
ART
Accelerated Resolution Therapy® (ART) is a brief, structured psychotherapy that helps people resolve distressing memories and symptoms by reprocessing how those memories are stored in the brain; often in as little as one session. ART integrates eye-movement techniques with image rescripting to reduce emotional and physiological reactivity while clients stay in control throughout the process. Through ART, clients are able to erase negative images associated with memories, resulting in the elimination of corresponding triggers while preserving the factual memory. Accelerated Resolution Therapy® and ART® are registered service marks of the Rosenzweig Center for Rapid Recovery (RCRR), used with permission.
EMDR
Healing Counseling Center Incorporated is well versed in treating a multitude of disorders through the use of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is an extensively researched psychotherapeutic approach and has been proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR places your brain in a hyper processing mode by stimulating the right and left side of the brain to effectively process feelings, thoughts and experiences. EMDR not only is effective in reprocessing traumatic experiences, it can also be used to treat a multitude of disorders, including but not limited to, addictions, phobias, OCD, eating disorders, anxiety, and self-esteem.
ERP
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is a type of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that is particularly effective for treating OCD and Phobias. ERP involves two parts: 1) Intentional exposure to anxiety-provoking triggers through in-vivo and imaginal methods, and 2) Response Prevention, which involves resisting the urge to engage in rituals/compulsions that would typically induce short term relief. By teaching clients to eliminate compulsive behaviors/rituals and tolerate distress after exposure to their fears, the obsessional cycle of OCD can dissipate over time. Clients will experience desensitization and habituation to their original fears, which brings decreased physiological responses to triggering stimuli and less obsessional thinking overall.
DBT
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) can assist clients in managing painful emotions while decreasing conflict in interpersonal relationships. The four main focuses of DBT are mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Through the use of the four main areas, clients will feel confident in regulating overwhelming emotions, tolerating stress, learn to enjoy the moment, and communicate/interact effectively with others. DBT is proven most effective in the treatment of personality disorders, depression, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, and substance abuse.
CBT
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the most commonly used therapeutic approach in the counseling community. CBT is a goal-oriented approach that uses practical problem solving skills to identify dysfunctional patterns of thinking that impact our thoughts, feelings, and actions. The goal of CBT is to create awareness and insight of our negative thought patterns to help reshape to positive thinking. Through reshaping, this will improve our beliefs, attitudes, feelings, and thoughts to include a positive outcome. CBT is useful in the treatment of most psychological disorders.
